May I connect USB directly with BQ25895M and ARM like the image below. The metal in the left is the USB port.

    I would not recommend doing this.

    Customers typically add a USB switch, something like the TS3USB221A to take care of the switching. The bq25895M includes at DSEL pin that can be used to drive the Select Input pin of this switch.

    Hi Joel,
    I don't have enough room to place TS3USB211A on the PCB, can I just remove it? Thanks

    Hey Wenle,

    It can be done without the USB switch, but understand that your ARM host will need to provide time for the charger to finish the D+/D- detection after the USB input is attached before attempting to enumerate/begin USB communication.

    D+/D- will go to a high-impedance state once the detection completes allowing for communication. However, also make sure that the D+/D- connection to the ARM host does not add any significant resistance to those line during the charger DPDM detection. This is to avoid an erroneous input current limit result.
