TPS65910: Footprint, 48VQFN, Offset Power Pad

Part Number: TPS65910

Referring to spec sheet TPS65910, page 105, it shows quad flat pack power pad offset from the center-line of the part and on the next page shows the footprint dimensions with an offset power pad also. I cant imagine this is correct as it seems the surface tension at re-flow would be acting upon the part to pull it out of alignment. Can you please let me know if this spec is in fact correct and if I should build my footprint asymmetrically?

  • Kelly,

The thermal pad is correctly drawn in this datasheet. There is a nominal distance of 1.2mm on the right and bottom edges to the thermal pad and a nominal distance of 0.75mm on the top and left edges to the thermal pad. (This is considering pin 1 is at the top left corner.)

    Thanks,

    Nastasha
