LM25122-Q1: setting to enter Skip Cycle Mode and Pulse Skipping Mode

Part Number: LM25122-Q1

Dear all,

■Question 1: How we set the threshold of Skip Cycle Mode?

At datasheet p.21 and p.22 anterior half of first paragraph, I understood that we should set Vmode by external resistor.

However, at datasheet p.22 latter half of first paragraph, I understood that we should set SLOPE or VCC pulled high or low.

What should we do to set the threshold?

■Question 2: When MODE=High, Diode Emulation Mode and Pulse Skip are OFF?

If we set MODE=High, will this device work same frequency at light load and usual load?

■Question 3: What is the condition to disable Pulse Skip?

At datasheet p.22 second paragraph, I understood that we should set MODE=Low.

However, at datasheet p.3 MODE pin description, I understood that Pulse Skip will enable with MODE=Low.

Which should we do?

Best regards,

  • The Pin function table on page 3 provides the concise descriptions: Pull MODE >1.2V, you activate the forced PWM mode. Short the pin to GND for Pulse skipping. When MODE is <1.2V but not grounded, it is skip cycle mode.
