BQ24250: BQ24250 Blocking FET does not work

Part Number: BQ24250

BQ24250 has a blocking FET connected to pin IN. But when I disconnect the power at pin IN I have still some voltage at IN (about 1.9V) so that a connected LED is glowing. Must I deactivate the CE input to get the FET blocking?

  • Hey Michael,

This is a known bug with the internal logic of the bq24250.

With enough time, the LED should stop glowing.

However, to speed up this process, we want to drain the input capacitor much faster than just through leakage currents in the charger.

As a workaround, I suggest placing a 1kOhm pull-down resistor from IN to GND.

Let us know if this fixes what you are seeing.

    Regards,

    Joel H
