BQ51050B: BQ51050B also with DC source

Good morning,

I'm using BQ51050B as wireless power supply and battery charger. Now my source is an external coil. Can I use this IC also with DC source? If yes, where do I have to connect it?

Hi Francesco
The bq51050B cannot be powered by an external DC source.
To keep power dissipation on the linear regulator in the device low it will reduce input voltage to a min voltage drop. RX will command the TX to adjust V-RECT voltage to a target that provided regulation and low power dissipation. External DC source would not provide that option.

This would require a wireless power supply, bq51013B or bq51003 followed by a charger. The two wireless power supplies have an Adapter input using external MOSFETs that would be used when adapter is present.
