Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

In AN SLVA412 the Design 1 is for a GSM/GPRS power supply with Vin = 8V-40V, Vout = 3.8V and Iout = 2.5A.

I'm wondering if this design is saved in Webench so I can retrieve it and do my evaluation.

Hi,

I am not aware if we saved the webench design for the sample application on the app note. But you can go to the product folder of TPS54240 and entered in your parameters and simulate the load transient performance on webench to meet your GSP/GPRS spec

On the right hand side, you can enter your particular specifications

That design pre-dates Webench. We did not use Webench to create it. We may have some design files remaining, but it was 7 years ago. I'll check after the holiday weekend.

Thks Arief,

but when I input similar data, Webench calculates other devices. Inductor for example I get 22uH instead of 10uH.

since I'm not expert, I'm affraid to replace devices by another one with so big difference in values and then lose efficiency, increase cost, etc..

Webench may have optimized the design at lower frequency to have higher efficiency. That's why you have larger inductor value. You can turn the optimization nob toward small solution size, so that higher frequency will be used. You can follow the Webench design or the AN. Should work either way.
