UC3710: UC3710

Part Number: UC3710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1710,

Hi,

I would like to know if the TI mosfet driver UC3710DW and the UC1710J have the same die. They do not have the same package, the 1st one is SOIC and the second one is a dip but they share the same datasheet. However UC3710DW is rated for temperatures between 0°C to 70°C and UC1710J -40°C to 85°C.

Basically I would like to have a UC1710J in a SOIC package or an automotive version of the UC3710DW. Does TI have any of those?

Also can you indicate how t purchase the UC1710J from France? It is not available at any of our usual providers and it's not possible to request for samples.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Annaïs

  • Hello Annaïs,

Thank you for considering TI for your gate driver needs.

The UC3710DW and UC1710J have the same die.

The UCC3710DW is specified for a temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC. Whereas, the UC1710J is packaged in an 8-pin hermetically sealed dual in-line package for -55ºC to +125ºC operation.

According to ti.com we only offer UC1710J in CDIP and there is only 0ºC to 70ºC operation for the UC3710DW.

These two devices are owned by different product lines. My product line, High Power Drivers (HPD) owns UC3710 while the High Reliability (HL) product line owns the UC1710. I will loop them in to help you with ordering these devices.

    regards,
    Mateo
  • Hi Mateo,

Can you confirm that the IC UC3710DW is rated for a temperature use of -40°C to +85°C even though the temperature range mentioned on the datasheet is 0°C to 70°C?

    Thank you,

    Annaïs
  • Hi Annais,

The UC3710DW's temperature range is from 0ºC to +70ºC.

Please use the value on the first page of the datasheet. My previous post should have said:

" The UCC3710DW is specified for a temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC 0ºC to +70ºC. Whereas, the UC1710J is packaged in an 8-pin hermetically sealed dual in-line package for -55ºC to +125ºC operation.

    Regards,
    Mateo
