Hi,
Is there any reverse protection circuitry inside the BQ24616 Charger IC when the battery is connected in wrong polarity?
Will it damage the charger IC when we connected the battery with reverse terminals?
Thanks and regards,

Hi Sivasuryan.R,
When battery reverse, we cannot control the reverse current. It may damage output component like MOSFET. For charger, bq24616 cannot support negative voltage. So if negative voltage is at SRN, SRP...etc., pin will be damaged.
You can refer to TI document - Reverse Current/Battery Protection Circuits SLVA139
/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/7587.slva139.pdf
You can use one simple diode or MOSFET to prevent reverse battery.
