UCC28180: Using method of UCC28180

Part Number: UCC28180

Hi

I got the questions from my customer.
Sorry for asking you so many questions, could you tell me the following questions?

1.If the AC voltage was inputed UCC28180 before the auxiliary surpply, are there the problems?

2.If the Vsense terminal is open, what does UCC28180 operate?

3.I think UCC28180 doesn't detect the the input voltage, what is the input current waveform(a sin curve or any other curve)?

4.Does UCC28180 enter the audible level when it operates burst mode?

5.Should I use  the schottky diode diode as the protection diode for the Isense terminal?
Best regards,
Yokota

  • Hello Yokota,
I will answer your questions in the order you asked.
    1. This is not a problem
The value of the output voltage is initially the rectified input AC.
When the auxiliary voltage is applied to the VCC pin the output voltage increases to the set value of the pfc
    2. VSENSE has open loop protection so the pfc is disabled with VSENSE below 0.82V
    3. The input current is a sine wave
    4. Does not display audible noise
5 You can use a Schottky diode or a small signal diode

    Regards
    John
