TPS53647: TPS53647

Part Number: TPS53647

I have our first prototypes of a 35A 2-phase TPS53647 design.  I am connected to it with TI Fusion Digital Power Designer.  I have a "RST_VOUT Fault" in the status registers that won't clear.  In the data sheet, the STATUS_MFR_SPECIFIC register contains this field and it says that it indicates a RST_VOUT fault has occured, but  it doesn't say want an RST_VOUT fault is.  I haven't been able to find an explanation for what this fault means in the the TPS53647 data sheet or searching.  My questions are

1. what is a RST_VOUT Fault?

2. Where would this information be in case I need to find definitions for other faults, i.e. VSNSGT2P75FLT?

Thanks much.

  • Hi Ken,

RST_VOUT fault bit set to 1 means there was a RESET event, and most likely the RESET pin is pulled to low. The description of RESET function can be found in section 7.3.13.

For VSNSGT2P75FLT, you can refer to the OVP section. This means before the controller is Enabled, the output voltage is already higher than 2.75V hence triggering OVP and the controller latches on low side FET.
