TPS2373: Please tell me about the compliance standard of TPS2373.

Part Number: TPS2373

Hi, team.

My customers are looking for PD devices with 48 W output.

In order to be judge it whether TPS2373 can be used from customer,

I want to try promotion it.

A question here.

Although it is described as "PoE ++ compliant" in the data sheet of this product,

do you also support "(other company's standard) LT PoE++"?

Best regards,

Masumi Sekiguchi

  • Sekiguchi-San,

The TPS2373-4, released on 6/30/17, is IEEE802.3bt-ready. We believe it will pass all related testing once the new IEEE802.3bt standard is published in summer of 2018.

In addition, and to your question, the part can receive power from a "PoE++" PSE from our competition (LT/ADI) - even though it is non-compliant to the IEEE802.3bt standard.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to follow up if not clear to you. You may also email me if wanting stronger promotion material.

  • Thank you very much, Thomas-san.

By the way, is it possible to use the specifications of type 3 or lower?

    Best Regards,
    Masumi Sekiguchi
  • My pleasure Sekiguchi-San.

Yes, the new IEEE802.3bt standard is backward compatible and inter-operable with existing power levels today (Types 1-2 and Classes 1-4). No problem!

This new standard, and device, is quite flexible and powerful.
