Hi, 

I am using bq25895 in battery charger, and everything looks and works great except when I totally disconnect the battery  and use only wall charger it only recycles the power  and never works without battery being physically hooked up. Anything I should do to alleviate this recycling issue. Again it works great with wall charger when battery physically hooked up and disconnecting battery and trying to bring it up from wall charge power recycle.

    I am not sure what you mean by recycling the power. Can you disable the internal BATFET using REG9 bit 5 when the battery is removed?

    Hi Jeff,

    That suggestion will be okay but can it be done automatically to detect that Battery is totally dead or physically removed and bq25895 work normal in all the condition and when we plug to the wall.
    The way I understand from your write up is: seems each time we don’t have battery we need to disable the internal BATFET using REG9 bit 5, (again we have not tried out this suggestion but I need to make sure we will automatically detect the no battery or dead batter and automatically disabled or enabled the BATFET.

    The charger will go into and out of termination at a fairly predicable, slow rate depending on the amount of capacitance at SYS and BAT. If your processor can monitor for transition into/out of termination at that rate, you should be able to detect bad or removed battery.
