BQ24725A: LTO battery charger

Part Number: BQ24725A

Hi,

We are developing a charging system and are looking for a solution to charge a LTO battery (lithium titanate) with 4 serie cells, these batteries have a low charging voltage: 2.8V and nominal voltage: 2.4V. We thought to use the bq24725A as charger, but we are not sure if those components are compatible whith the LTO battery requirements, is it possible to charge the battery with this charger or do we need another charger? On other forums we read that a lot of chargers and monitors do not fully support LTO batteries.

Thanks!

  • bq24725A is a host control charger. The host controller send SMBus commands to bq25725A and charge the batteries. So, the charging profile is controlled by the host controller. I would think bq25725A is a right charger for LTO battery.
