BQ27510-G3: Reset cycle count

Part Number: BQ27510-G3

Hi,

Is it possible to reset automatly the cycle count when a new battery was insert ?

thx

  • Except you manually change it via i2c commands, i don't believe there is a way to change it.
    thanks

  • Thanks Onyx

In the Technical Reference Manual "bq27510-G3 System-Side Impedance Track™Fuel Gauge With Integrated LDO", for the section 2. 16 CycleCount ther are these words :

This read-only function returns an unsigned integer value of the number of cycles that the active cell has
experienced with a range of 0 to 65535. One cycle occurs when accumulated discharge ≥ CC Threshold.
The gauge maintains a separate cycle counter for both cell profiles and resets to 0 if the insertion of a new
    pack has been detected.

Is there a special configuration to be made on the gauge?
  • Pls see the battery insertion section of the TRM. upon insertion of the battery, the gauge takes resistance measurements and compares it to the Ra profiles. if the default ra profile is the closet match, then it decides that is a new battery and then copies the default Ra values to the resistance tables , then it will set the cycle counter to 0.

    thanks
