I need to include two individual 12V Li-Po or Li-Ion battery packs in a product in parallel for redundancy. Are there any TI products that can handle this? Or would it work to put two chargers (like the BQ24616) in parallel, with series diodes before they connect to the system to prevent one battery system charging the other? This seems like it would disable the DPM feature. There's also the state where one charger is attempting to power the system through the battery, and the other is trying to power it with the external DC jack power.
Is there a standard methodology for parallel battery packs?
