I have questions about TPS61165.

Can we use this IC by series 27 LEDs?

When we can not use TPS61165 by series 27 LEDs, please tell us another IC.

Vin is 12V, topology is boost and PWM dimming.

    Hi Takahiro,
    27 LEDs in series will get almost 90V, you can only choose device supporting external Boost MOSFET. TPS61197 could be a good option, it supports PWM dimming and 12V input voltage.
    Coudl you please share more information about your application? What is the end equipment?

    I am sorry. LEDs are 12 in series. 27 LED is a mistake.
    Our customer said that Vref is about 30V.
    Can we use TPS61165 under the above conditions?
    Application is MFP.

    The max output voltage for TPS61165 is 38V, excluding output diode, the max LED voltage should be lower than 37.5V, which happens under lowest ambient temperature. The number of LED counts depends on the LED Vf characteritic, please check the max Vf of LED and see if the total voltage of 12 LEDs will exceeds 37.5V or not. If not, TPS61165 is good to choose.
