Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I have a DC-DC power requirement in the design for one of the RF part: VIN=29-30V & VOUT=28V with current requirement of 1.5A. I want to use the part LM317A(selected this since I don't want to use switcher) for this application as it suits my requirement. But am unable to design this in WEBENCH tool. When I enter the requirement in the tool, it says "LDO Voltage drop doesn't meet requirement" WHy am I getting this error?

    Hi Gowtham,

    I think the reason Webench is giving you this error is because the LDO is in dropout. If the LDO is in dropout it will not be regulating the voltage, if you raise Vin or lower the current the error may go away.
