LM5118: How to reduce LM5118 high/ low line output over current limit(OCP) range

Part Number: LM5118

Dear Sir,

My customer use LM5118 EVM to do test, low line(Vin=12V) output OCP on 4.5A & High line(Vin=42V) OCP output on 7.5A.

Please kinldy provide suggestion, how to reduce high line(Vin=42V) output OCP to 5.5A ~6A ?

Thanks!

Steven

  • Steven,

Reduction of the inductor peak current limit is related to the current sense resistor and the RAMP capacitor value. These values are calculate based on the maximum load current that is design. This can be based on equation 29  of the datasheet.

If a tight limit is needed for the output current a solution can be implemented based on the following application note.

    Thanks,
