Hi,

Let me talk about phantom power solution.
Customer currently uses TPS61170 for phantom power.
However, Customer would like to fixed PWM mode from the next model and use it.
Therefore, I am looking for a boost converter of FPWM.
Could you give me advice on alternative products of TPS61170?

I propose TPS611781 to customers.

Would you please give me a simple circuit example or configuration example?
I would like to use it for suggested materials.

What is input/output condition? why customer need FPWM device

Thank you for your support.
Customer condition is:
Vin=10V to 18V
Vout=48V
Iout≒50mA

Customer concerned about the noise from the power supply.
(Impact on the image is caused by noise coming from GND.)
Therefore, Customer is looking for FPWM products.

for this high input voltage, the TPS61178 is not OK. we don't have a converter better than TPS61170 for this application.
which image you refer to?

TPS611781 has a higher maximum input voltage rating than TPS61170.
Why can not I use it?

the output voltage rating is only 20V, that is why it can't be used

the TPS61170 is a fixed frequency device, i still don't know why it is not OK for customer.

Hi Yusuke San,

The output ripple from the TPS61170 should be very small if the layout is good.

What is the ourtput ripple requirement at the custimer side, we can test in the lab to check it. Because TPS61170 is the best solution for this application.

Request of the ripple is not.
Customer dislike the following modes.
Customer want to fix the PWM even when the light load.

What is the input voltage, output voltage and the lightest load in this application? so that we can check whether there's a fit part!

・Vin=10V～18V
・Vout=48V
・Iout≒50mA(minimum 1mA order)
(for phantom power)

Hi Yusuke-San,

Thanks for the upadte. It seems LM5001/5002 is fit for the application, and needn't charge pump the output voltage anymore, directly 48V output, because this device support 75V .

But you need to check the light load 1mA operation waveform. Suggest you open a new post on LM5001/5002 working at light load, PWM or in skip mode. I don't have the EVM on hand. The guys in USA support this part.
