We have a design with the bq40z60. I would like the battery management system to work stand alone, without the need for a micro-controller. I have read that this is possible but I am having difficulties setting the parameters so this works. The main problem is after a full discharge the DSG FET is turned off. The power to the system is restored when the battery charger is plugged in but the batteries are still disconnected from the system. I would like the battery manager to immediately go into the charge mode when the battery charger voltage is applied without micro-controller intervention. I need to manually turn on the CHG and DSG FET's to allow the batteries to enter a charge cycle.
