BQ40Z50-R1: What is the meaning of the following terms that appear in bqstudio related to bq40z50

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1

What is the meaning of the following terms?

Cell 1 Raw DOD

Cell 2 Raw DOD

Cell 3 Raw DOD

Cell 1 CompRes

Cell 2 CompRes

Cell 3 CompRes

  • Those are debug registers which we use when addressing customer issues. Pls ignore.

  • Why I am asking is, I am using a 3s1p configuration of LiFePO4 cells and there is a large variation in the DOD values of each cell.

Ex. DOD of two cells are near 800 and DOD of 1 cell is at 11000 (very very different from the other two)

The voltage of this odd cell is dipping during charging. I would like to know whether this strange behavior is due to the discrepancies in DOD values and what I must do to rectify it.

  • No, the DOD value is not the reason for your voltage dipping. DOD stands for depth of discharge. The gauge measures the battery voltage to determine the DOD.
You need to check your battery pack to make sure that cell isn't faulty or somehow loaded more than the others.
    thanks
