BQ51013B: Wireless receiver circuit for 1 cell Lithium battery ( Bq51013B+Q24040)

Part Number: BQ51013B

Hi everybody ! i m new in the field of wireless power and i don't have much experience in this field. I want to create my own receiver circuit with Bq51013B so i use the data sheet to get a recommended circuit for my application. the target of my projetc is to load a one cell's battery 3.7 V 600mAh. So i refeere to this circuit included in datasheet and i get these caracteristics for electronic's components .

I have some issue :

1- what's kind of host i should use it !!

2-  the pack in the circuit does mean the battery !!

3- are these values of capacitors and resistances adapted to my application ?

4- for Cout/C4 and C3/Crect , one capacitor is sufficient or i should add 2 others parallel capacitor  ( 10uF,0.1uF)

5- what kind of coil that was adapted with this circuit ?

Thank you for your help in advance.

  • Hi Khali

Thanks for your question, I will try to assist.

I took a quick look at the circuit and do not see any big problems but will look at it in more detail.
Couple of question that will help me:
1.) The battery is 600mAh -- what is your charge rate and termination value?
2.) For the RX coil how much room do you have to work with. Is the EVM RX coil good?

    Regarding your
    I have some issue :

1- what's kind of host i should use it !!----This is optional and can be hard wired

2- the pack in the circuit does mean the battery !!----Yes

3- are these values of capacitors and resistances adapted to my application ? ---- Will review

4- for Cout/C4 and C3/Crect , one capacitor is sufficient or i should add 2 others parallel capacitor ( 10uF,0.1uF) ---Recommend two. Caution on the 10uf capacitor, I am seeing a lot of ceramic caps with very poor DC Bias performance. They are much less than rated C value.

5- what kind of coil that was adapted with this circuit ?---If the EVM coil can be used this is a good starting point. Adapter could be 5V and with current to match charger current.
  • Hi Bill !
Thank you for your answer and your disposition.
    1) The battery is 600mAh -- what is your charge rate and termination value?-- the battery is one cell 3.7 V ( charge rate=1C=0.6 A) -- termination value i understand that is the Discharge position which is max: 25 C ( 25*60=1.5A)
    2) For the RX coil how much room do you have to work with. Is the EVM RX coil good?-- i have to work with one room for RX coil that will be designed in a PCB ( but i will work with one recomended coil ( iwill start with EVM coil ) at first to check the design). the circuit is not tested before, i m working to optimize the circuit, sure with your help then i will see the result.

I have some other issue :
1- did you have some example for host ( hard or soft)
2- for C5 , there is no information in the datasheet , did you have some tested value !
3- in some model there is 2 PGND, must i wired them to gnd !

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Bill !

I finished my schematic and it loook like that, if u don't mind take a look and send me back your notes.

and i choose this coil for this application,   fr.rs-online.com/.../

if you don't mind take a look and send me back your notes please.

  • Hi Bill !

I updated my schematic and it loook like that, if u don't mind take a look and send me back your notes.

i want to integred this recommended coil with this circuit.

for the transmitter, Can i use one from the shipped one sold in amazon !!

    Best regards,

Wish to have an answer from you soon,
    Thank you in advance.
