Hello,
I'm using TPS54202 for adjust the voltage from 24V to 5V with 120mA of load. I had used WEBENCH design and recommended parts. Sometimes when I connect the circuit to a power source, there's an overcurrent from 24V to ground and the component is damaged.
Here is the circuit:
What is wrong with this circuit?
Best regards,
Silas
Hi Silas,
You used the word "Sometime", i think this phenomenon could be repeated easily. I suspected the voltage overstress on VIN pin, so please measure the waveform of Vin to check if the maximum of Vin is higher than the ABS Max. Usually, the spike would be obvious when DC plugging in.
BRs,
Ryan
