UCD9090: Fusion Power Designer Tool -Wrong pin reflected at the XML file

Part Number: UCD9090

Hi,

Few queries we would like to bring regarding to the XML file content and tool version.

1. We are seeing differences in the data between  XML files that was created in the same version of Fusion power design tool. This we observed at the System Reset Feature

"Proto2_UCDImage_6Jul2017_Rev1-0.xml" file  & "Proto2_UCDImage_5Jul2017_ver.xml" was created in 2.0.120.

If i see the entry at Reset Pin, one file shows "Reset Pin: 2, Active Low" and another file shows "Reset Pin: Pin 12 FPWM3_GPIO7, Active Low"

We were using Fusion Power Designer Tool with version 2.0.120

Then we migrated into the tool Version of 7.0.18. "Proto2_UCDImage_19Jul2017_Rev1-0.xml" file was created with this new version.

In this file also, the reset pin detail shows as "Reset Pin: 2, Active Low"

If you could refer the mapping inside the tool we have mapped the "Pin12 FPWM3_GPIO7" for the RESET GPO. Physically it works fine and we could get the reset signal form the assigned pin#12.

Then Why does the XML files show as Pin 2? This lead us to worry about the actual mapping exits between the tool and the data in the XML file.

2. In the Same System reset line, the GPI tracking Release Delay entry is given as "micro seconds" in the files that was generated with V2.0.120 and given as "msec" in that of V7.0.18.

But we could see the GUI setting and actual physical measurement shows 60 msec. Hope this could be a tool issue that was rectified in the latest tool version.

Attached please find the XML files that i referred in the content and the snap shots to explain the differences.

Kindly provide your input on these queries.

Regards,

Felix.

  • Hi Felix

    Thank you for the finding.

#1. we will correct this to make sure that proper description is linked to the IO.

#2. SYSTEM Reset does not support micro-second resolution. that' s we fixed this in the new GUI to have msec

If you really want to compare the project file, i would recommend to use the project compare tool in the GUI which will compare the raw data to minize the confusion.

The tool is under Tools->Device/Project Configuratio Compare.

    Thanks

    Yihe
