EMB1428Q: How to resolve Fault 0b1000?

Hi,

I control the module by a PIC24FJ128GA204 microcontroller

The PIC control EMB1428 by SPI.

We have commanded EMB1428 but it return an error (1000) message and the EMB1428 do connected the target cell, but it do not hold its state for the duration of the watchdog timer. The selected cell is connected as long as we keep sending the command, but is disconnected as soon as we stop.

Hi Romain,

Error code (1000) means that the nCS pin transitions before the DONE pin transitioned. Are you maintaining the chip select pin, or just pulsing it? Try increasing the duration of the nCS pin signal

Hi,

I tried what you suggested and the EMB1428 returns no errors (error code 1010), but when I send a charge or discharged command, the transistors stay open, so the cells are not charged or discharged.

Hi Romain,

I'm afraid i didn't quite follow...error code 1010 indicates that there was a secondary side overcurrent event on the EMB1499 (010). This fault would prevent the EMB1428 from closing the FET switches.
