UCC29950: UCC29950 problem

Part Number: UCC29950

Hi sir:

Please help check the following questions.

1. IC X-CAP discharge is there through 60950 or 62368?

2. What kind of architecture does LLC protect?

Is there capacitive zone protection function?

Is there a countermeasure?  go into the capacitor area.

  • Hi Jerry,

I have asked the applications engineer to respond to this post. You should see an response soon.

  • Hi Jerry
I can only give a partial answer for now - I'll have to check on 'IC X-CAP discharge is there through 60950 or 62368'

There is no explicit protection against entering capacitive zone. The resonant tank is designed so that the system does not enter the capacitive region during operation - note that the UCC29950 has a fixed minimum LLC frequency of 70kHz. The EVM demonstrates that this approach is sufficient.
