TPS40322: 0Ohm resistor in SW Node on datasheet and EVM

Part Number: TPS40322

Hi Team,

in the datasheet on page 33 there are resistors from the switch node to the SW pin R27 & R30 in the schematic. Resistors like that are also on the EVM. What are they for? There is no explanation in the datasheet of users guide. I understand the resistor in series with the boot cap but never seen this resistor before.

Best regads,

Simon

  • Hi Simon,

In case there is a large negative votlage spike on switch node during operation, the resistor between switch node and SW pin can be changed to a few ohms to reduce the stress on SW pin and provent SW pin being damaged.

    Thanks
