TPS25923: Extended temperature operation

I plan on using the TPS259231 in the reverse current protection configuration.  I have a temperature sensor and can disable the device if the temperature is outside of the -40 to +85 range, however I cannot prevent power from being applied to the input.  This part could potentially see -55C to +110C.  If the part has power on the input but is not enabled is there concern for failure?  Is it possible to get this part in an extended temperature range?

    Can you help us understand the reason for such low operating temperatures. what is application/equipment?
    Are you using this device to turn-off subsystems based on temperature conditions?

    Hi Rakesh,

    I am utilizing it for data collection circuitry occurring in thermal chambers.  I have a need to protect against reverse current if input power is lost.  I have a comparator sensing the current direction to disable the 259231 to discharge the BFET pin cutting off the reverse current.  All other reverse current protection devices did not cut off until a significant amount of current flowed back through the device.  This gives me the control.  At extreme temperatures I can cut off the particular subsystem powered through this 259231 but power must remain on the main system when required.

    Hi Jeff,

    Interesting to know your application use case.
    When the device TPS259231 is disabled, there should not be any concern in using at +110C. I cannot suggest to use till -55C as the device behavior is not tested/characterized at extreme low temperature -55C.
    Is this a lab prototype or going into equipment for production?

    It is for lab equipment but will be connected to production hardware during thermal QA.  If I decide to use it I will place a PFET in front of it and cut off the voltage when I disable the 259231.  Thank you for your time.
