LM3481-Q1: Behavior after releasing the OVP state of LM3481-Q1

Part Number: LM3481-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3481

Dear support team

Could you teach the behavior after releasing the OVP of the LM3481-Q1?

How long does it take for a normal switching cycle?

Regards

Tomohiro Nagasawa

  • It depends on how long your output voltage can recover to below the OVP threshold. I quote the datasheet words below:

The LM3481 will begin switching again when the feedback voltage reaches VFB + (VOVP -VOVP(HYS)).

If you have a large output capacitor to hold the voltage, the voltage may decay slowly and it takes longer time for the IC to re-start switching.

Hope this clarifies. If this answers your question, please reply by clicking "This resolved my issue" button.
