Our customer is requesting a power solution in a CT project as below, do you know if TI have any recommended solution that we can propose? Look forward to your feedback, many thanks! 

  • Input: 24~48V
  • Output:
    • need to be isolated from input
    • +12V 0.25A
    • +5V, 3A
    • ±5V, 0.3A (isolated from 12V and 5V)

    Since this is a very unique spec target, it's hard to find an existing TI Design that's a close match.

    If you click on the tab “search power designs by parameters” you can refine the list based on DC input, isolated output, voltage & power level, etc.


    I have found the following possibilities which meet the input range and are close to the required output power level, which could be used as a good starting point.

    The Flyback designs could be modified pretty easily to add extra isolated outputs by adding more secondary windings to the transformer. Some redesign of the power stage would be needed to scale the power up or down as appropriate. There are also some Active-clamp Forward designs which I have omitted – although they would offer better efficiency compared to Flyback, it would be more difficult to add the other isolated outputs:

    As Bernard told that It seems very specific requirement you have so there may not any off the shelf solution but you can use multiple designs to get your job done. I am suggesting some reference design links of TI which is suitable to your requirements. I hope it will help you.

    Thanks a lot for prompt help, since there are multi outputs, we may propose the below solution,

    We have PMP10532 based on LM5160 cover the following
    +12V 0.25A
    ±5V, 0.3A (isolated)

    And PMP9253 based on LM5022 cover the following: +5V, 3A
