BQ24450: Battery Status detection using BQ24450 device

Hi,

Im trying to use the BQ24450 device for 12V Emergency light Battery charger.In my applicaiton,I have to provide the following status:

Battery Charge is completed

Battery is charging

Battery needs charging.

To provide this status,Can Ib use the STAT1 and STAT2 output status .

Pls let me know.

And also,Would like to know the typical Pre charging current requiement for 12V battery.

Hi,
The STAT pins only show the different state of charge. They don't show whether the battery is charging or not because the battery is always being charged to maintain the battery voltage so there isn't a need to show whether when the battery needs charging or when charging is complete. The typical pre charge current is 25 mA.
