constant charging current 9mA solutions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25120

Dear sir/madam,

I want to find a charger to charge a 9mA constant charging current device. And also a guage which matches with the charger, and it can reveal the voltage on CC state, also has the LEDs which demonstrates the state of charging(e.g.20%,40%,60%,80%,100%).

Could you help to check which IC can be used? Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Jenny

  • You can check bq25120 (www.ti.com/.../bq25120.pdf) to get 9mA charging current.
I am not familiar on gauge ICs. Please open a new thread on gas gauge forum.
  • Hi wang,

Thank you for your response, we need to throw in an extra clause, the charger need to charge many number of cells, probably accurately 64 cells(i can accept a few ICs to charge), it needs to be charged simultaneously. Could you please recommend an IC which has each stream of 9mA?

And i want to design the charger to reveal once 50% capacity of the battery is charged.(not use gas gauge)Do you have a mature circuit?

    Regards

  • Let us clarify the application system first.

Charger need to charge many number of cells. Those cells are independent: different voltage or state of charge level; insertion and removal at any time; don't share a same system load; not paralleling or series with other cells.

If that is your application system, the system need 64 charger to charge 64cell simultaneously.

If not use gas gauge, charger doesn't know the battery is 50% charged. The host controller has to send a command to charger when the battery is 50% charged.
