BQ78350-R1: BQ78350-R1 LED settings

Part Number: BQ78350-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello sir,

I see that the led on state maximum time is 15 seconds for State of charge indication. I wanted to indicate the SOC all the time when the BMS System is powered ON. So, is there any way to change the timing or eliminate the 15 seconds limit through GUI or any other way.

Thanks

Akilan G

  • The bq78350-R1 does not offer the option to eliminate the hold time and keep the LED's on continuously during discharge or when at rest. The LED Hold Time is stored in a one byte register, so you may be able to extend the time out to 64s by entering 255 into the gg file and importing it back into the gauge. I am not sure whether bqStudio will prevent this number from being imported. You can set the LEDCHG bit and the LEDs will remain on continuously when charging.
  • Hey TEC,

Thank you for replying, I got it. They should have given the option for eliminating the Hold time for the LEDs. And as the LEDs are connected to open drain outputs, very hard to manipulate the LED behavior ie. Hold time, according the SOC.
