TIDA-00779: MOSFET DRIVER PROBLEM

Part Number: TIDA-00779
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27524A

Hi,

I am reviewing TIDA-00779 reference design but i realize UCC27531D driver in schematic has 2 channel output and it drives 2 mosfet. But when I examined the UCC27531D driver  seems single channel mosfet driver.

I investigated   UCC27531D driver datasheet and applications notes in e2eti.com but i cant find anywhere using like in TIDA-00779.  I am wrong or there is a mistake in reference design .Also how to make a

change to apply a design real circuit if there is an error.

Best Regards,

Hakan

  • Thanks for your interest in TI here. I've contacted the appropriate product group. You should hear from them soon.
  • Hello Hakan,
Thank you for your interest in TI power management products. I am an applications engineer in the high power drivers product line and will work to resolve your questions. This schematic notes mention two configurations for two different drivers, one is the UCC27531D and the UCC27524A. The pinout shown is actually the pinout for the UCC27524A which is the dual driver. In the case of using the UCC27524A you would not populate R44 since there is a driver channel for each power MOSFET.
The UCC27531D will drop into the same pinout and function properly, but you need to populate R44 since the UCC27531D is a single channel driver.

Please confirm if this answers your questions in the conversation thread.
