BQ40Z60: Load connected during Learning Cycle

Hello,

I have a potentially easy question. I have been using the eval board to determine how to conduct the learning cycle and now that I have that down I am going to be conducting it on the actual hardware. When I was using the eval board, I would disconnect the load during the charge portion. Is that necessary to do, or is it okay to just leave the load attached while conducting the learning cycle?

i would recommend disconnecting the load as the charger would be attempting to charge the battery and power the load at the same time there by slowing down the process.

Hi Onyx,

I understand it would slow down the process but besides that would it effect the learning process at all?

Hi Adam,
It shouldn't affect learning. Just ensure that during the relaxation phase, the battery isn't powering the load in addition to the charger.
