BQ25703A: bq25703A / Efficiency result is too low

Hi,

I tried to simulate bq25703A Webench to see the light load efficiency, but it looks like the simulation does not include PFM mode. The Webench result show too low efficiency compared with the data in datasheet as attached. Please check it and discuss with MLC team.

You are right. Webench cannot give the light load efficiency because it doesn't have PFM model.
For light load efficiency, we have to use the datasheet number as reference.

BTW, recently, we compare 1oz copper to 2oz copper board efficiency. The peak efficiency could be improved by 2%.

Hi Wang,

Can you tell me the part number of inductor which was used to take efficiency in datasheet? Is it the same with EVM, IHLP3232CZER2R2M01?

Yes, It is same as the EVM. We will update the efficiency curve soon base on 2oz copper data. For heave load, the peak efficiency could get 1~2% better.
