BQ24780S: Enable Hybrid-mode failed

Hi Sir,

We send SMBus command to set the bit 2 of register address 0x37. After that, we detect the high level of TB_STAT and it seems that hybrid power boost mode is not working.

What is the condition to enable Hybrid mode?

1. Input current higher then current limit setting?

2. Set 0x37H[2] enable

3. From datasheet about BATPRES#: "The host can enable charging and hybrid power boost mode by write to REG0x14() and REG0x15() when BATPRES is HIGH" , so this means, I couldn't connect BATPRES# to ground if I want to enable hybrid mode?

4. Is there anything I need to notice?

1. Input current setting is higher than 1.5A

2. System load current is higher than 107% of input current setting. After enter Hybrid mode, the input current will be regulated back to input current setting.

3. Enable Hybrid mode.

BATPRES high doesn't block the Hybrid mode enable. If you still cannot enable it. Please send me waveform with SW, Isys, ACOK and Iadp.
