    Hello Du,

    Yes, bq24196 is a powerpath charger, this means the SYS output will be regulated to the MINSYS threshold when battery is below the threshold. If battery is absence, the internal BATFET must be turned off to prevent the BAT pin node from being charged to the battery regulation threshold and discharged continuously.
