TPS65094: FIT (Flash Image Tool)

Part Number: TPS65094

Hi,

I have one question.

I heard FIT (flash image tool) tool. This is for BIOS build of Intel Apollo Lake.
Does anyone have some information for this FIT? Is this supplied from Intel? How is cost?

My customer is considering to use TPS65094x for Apollo Lake.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hi Michi,

The "Apollo Lake SoC SPI and Signed Master Image Profile (SMIP) Programming Guide" (IBL#: 559702) is a pretty good resource for details on the setting up of a BIOS image. My understanding is that it is available in the Intel® Apollo Lake Intel® Trusted Execution Engine from https://platformsw.intel.com but BIOS support is done by the BIOS vendors (AMI, Insyde, etc) or Intel directly so we are not experts on the topic. I don't know if it costs money, I didn't see any cost when I downloaded it.
  • Dear kevin-san,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Unfortunately, I could not download "Apollo Lake SoC SPI and Signed Master Image Profile(SMIP) proramming Guide". It is privilege issue.
So could you give me other information for FIT?

    I appreciate your support.

    Best regards,
    Michi
  • Hi Michi,

I don't have any more information regarding this software; it is owned and developed by Intel and used by end customers or in collaboration with their BIOS vendors (AMI, Insyde, etc). Customers working with Intel should have access to these documents.
  • Dear Kevin-san,

    Thank you for your reply.
Our customer found TPS650941 setting section in "Apollo Lake SoC SPI and Signed Master Image Profile(SMIP) Programming Guide".
So customer understood BIOS can change easily for using TPS650941.

    I appreciate your support.

    Best regards,
    Michi
