Dear Team,

My customer is referring to Application note (slua408a) and using UART to read HDQ interface data for BQ27541-v200. The connection is as following: UART baud rate 4800, 9600, 19200, 57600; Data 8 bit; no parity; 2 stop bit. They tried different baud rate, but there is no HDQ response.

Would you please comment any UART setting needs to be changed to read HDQ data? Or please advice how can my customer solve the issue.

Are they using an EVM or a completed pack?

Just to check the basics: have they converted the IC to HDQ mode first? The bq2754x ICs are shipped in I2C mode and must be converted to HDQ mode in order to enable HDQ communication.

Also, is there a reason they are using bq27541-V200 and not the more recent bq27542-G1?

Yes, customer is using BQ27541 HDQ mode already.

Leverage bqStudio to ensure 541 did switch HDQ mod and communication is fine.
Here is MSP430 sample code for single gauge, included HDQ Interface for bq27541.
