BQ35100: factory calibration and Ra Table

Part Number: BQ35100

Hi Team,

Please help to confirm, Thanks.

Q1. Does it need factory calibration?

Q2. Do we have to update "Ra Table" in Data Flash which address between 0x4175(Ra0) and 0x4191(Ra14).

Q3. If the Ra Table is required, do we need to update according to temperature? For example, using different table for normal temperature and low temperature.

  • Hi Daniel

    1. yes you will need to configure the bq35100 to work for your application. You need to determine what mode of operation , either SOH, EOS or accumulation mode you application needs and then configure the data flash accordingly.
    2. You need to program the correct chem id for your battery. Doing so updates the Ra table. You are not to manually change the Ra table. The gauge updates the Ra table while the battery is in use in the field.
3 . No you do not need to do this. The gaauge does the updates of the Ra table and the algorithm compensates for temperature changes.

pls see the TRM of the device in the link below to understand how to use the gauge.
