BQ76PL455A-Q1: Circuit Design

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Hello

We are using BQ76PL455A-Q1 IC for monitoring & passive balancing of 14 Lithium Ion cells. The circuit has been made as per the typical application mentioned in the datasheet with required changes to the VSENSE15 and VSENSE16 pins. We are facing the below mentioned issues:-

1) No TX signal was received by the host controller(TMS570LS) despite sending the RX and Wake Up signals from the host controller. Upon later inspection, the TX pin was found to be grounded. The same issue occurred for two different IC trials. The TX pin was not grounded before connecting to the batteries and host controller. But after connecting and sending of signals, they were found to be grounded after which communication does not take place.

2) VIO pin was having an output of 1.8V when not connected to the 3.3V pin of host controller. This is not in accordance with the datasheet.

Kindly help us resolve these issues.

Thank You.
