BQ20Z95: bq20z95 Full Charge Capacity Reset

Part Number: BQ20Z95

Hi

We are currently busy with a production run of 8800mAH Li-Ion battery packs using the bq20z95 battery management solution. However on 2 of the packs the bq20z95 is incorreclty stating the full charge capacity. One of the packs the full charge capacity is stated as 65000mAH and the other 22000mAH. I have cycled both packs again the full charge capacity still hasn't corrected itself.

Is there a way to reset the full charge capacity?

Regards

Stephen

  • FCC and RM are based on the value of Qmax, so I would check Qmax in the data flash. The gauge limits how much Qmax can change at each update, so it will take many cycles to correct itself, if the value that high. How are you programming these packs in production? Using a golden .rom file or a golden senc file? If you can provide a gg file from a good pack and a bad pack, then we can compare them. You can also try issuing a reset command to force a capacity simulation to see whether this corrects FCC.
