Hi Sir,

My customer are using TLV62565DBVR on their system with a 3,3V output.

When Vin=3.8V and Vout=3.3V, the power consumption of TLV62565 will be around uA level.

When Vin=3.5V and Vout=3.3V, the power consumption of TLV62565 will be around 2mA.

Customer would like to know why power consumption of TLV62565 increased when Vin =3.5V.

And is there any method to reduce the power consumption at Vin =3.5V?

What is the input power source that can vary so much? As explained in the D/S, TLV62565 does not support 100% mode so it is likely not a good solution if Vin will be so close to Vout.

When operating near 100% mode and for any device which operates in 100% mode, the current consumption is always higher. This is because the device is still switching (either PWM or high side always on in 100% mode). See this app note for an explanation of Iq: www.ti.com/.../slyt412.pdf

Finally, we have the newer TLV62568/9 which are pin to pin and do support 100% mode. These would be recommended.
