TPS61030: EN PIN Short-circuit to GND Risk

Part Number: TPS61030

Hi all,

I would like to know the impedance of EN pin to GND of TPS61030 when there is no battery input.

My customer has tested that the impedance of EN pin to GND is small. And if VBAT and EN pin are connected together, when battery is plugged in, there maybe a risk of short-circuit through EN pin.

But if we connect battery first and the make EN pin connected to VBAT, there will be no problem.

I would like to know why.

Thanks

  • How did you measure the impedance? there should be no low impedance path from EN to GND.
Did you see problem if EN is connected to VBAT? because i don't see any problem by doing this.
if customer have a concerning, add a 10Kohm resistor in series with the EN pin.
