Can we use separate MOSFET for both ACFET & RBFET instead of common source 2-N-Channel MOSFET as used in BQ24773_EVM board? Will performance be affected by keeping separate MSOFETs for ACFET/RBFET ?
Dear Wang,
My question is, If We don't use common source 2 N-channel MOSFET, instead of that if we use 2 N-channel MOSFET IC having separate source and gate pins and then we short both gate pins and source pins together connecting to ACDRV and CMSRC respectively, What would be the effect on performance? Can we use this type of configuration?
For your reference: Type-1 MOSFET (2- N channel MOSFETs, source(S1 & S2) and gate(G1 & G2) pins of each MOSFET are not shorted internally)
Type-2 MOSFET (2- N channel MOSFETs, source and gate pins of each MOSFET are shorted internally)
As highlighted in red colour two MOSFETs used as ACFET(left side) & RBFET(right side), here what if we use Type-1 MOSFET instead of using Type-2? If we uses such type of MSOFET(Type-1) and manually connect both source(S1 & S2) together and then we connect it to CMSRC, the same way we do it for gate pins (G1 & G2) and connect it to ACDRV , would it affect to performance?
According to your statement, both type 1 and 2 are OK if the gate, drain, source connections are same as EVM reference circuit or datasheet typical block diagram.
