LM5170-Q1: Single phase operation

Hi,

I'm using the LM5170-Q1 in a design for an MPPT, however the power level is only 200W so a single phase works fine. What do I need to do with the inputs and outputs of the second channel? Can I leave them floating or do they need to be tied to some particular nets? Also out of curiosity is it possible to implement some sort of valley switching when in DCM?

Hi Luc,

Here are the pins for the second phase and what the state of each should be.

CSA2 - Ground

CSB2 - Ground

RAMP2 - Floating

COMP2 - Floating

SW2 - Ground

HB2 - Ground

HO2- Floating

LO2- Floating

IOUT2 - Floating

EN2 - GND

Zero current switching (ZCS) or valley switching is not possible. This is due to the device being a fixed frequency.
