BQ25703A: bq25703A / Use dual FET as external switch FET

Part Number: BQ25703A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD87334Q3D

Hi,

bq25703A EVM uses four single channel FETs as external switching FET, but now my customer is considering to use dual channel FET. So can you give your comment for following question?

  1. Can you recommend to use dual channel FET like TI's Power Block FET?
  2. Do you think that  Synchronous Buck Power Block can use for boost converter (Q3 and Q4)?
  3. Please let me know the recommended TI's Power Block FET if you can recommend to use it.

Best Regards,

Satoshi / Japan Disty

  • 1. The FET selection is depended on your solution power level. You can use CSD87334Q3D as example to check your solution.
    2. Yes. The synchronous Buck Power Block can use for boost converter (Q3 and Q4).
    3. Please contact NexFET group support for latest update on TI's Power Block. Or you can post the request on NexFET e2e forum. Give the switching frequency, inductor value, input/output voltage/current. They are able to find a TI power block for you.
