LM5041: Is it possible case to damage LM5041 if VREF is short to GND in operation?

Hi Team,

Is it possible case to damage LM5041 if VREF is short to GND in operation?
I believe it doesn't damage LM5041 because VREF has current limit feature as the following.
Is my understanding correct?

Hi Yaita-san,

The power dissipation with 20mA current limit an 10V Vcc is 200mW. I will need to check with the IC design team if this is ok. This will take one of two weeks to get a response.

A quick way to check is if you have parts in the lab you could power up the IC and check if the part is damaged when Vref is shorted to ground.

Hi Yaita-san

We can confirm that it is ok to short Vref to gnd and that the Vref circuit should not be damaged. The customer must still ensure that the junction temperature of the IC is below the maximum rated temperature during this condition.
