BQ2057: TEMP. SENSE PROBLEM

Part Number: BQ2057

Hi all,

I have used above circuit in my design. Temp. sense Resistor ratio RT1 and RT2 are 1k and 15k as per ti's TS Designer Software.

In this circuit whenever i connect sense pin TS to resistor divider or with NTC terminal of battery, charging of battery stops.

I have checked all connection but there is no any correction or shorting problem.

Anyone has solution regarding this.

Regards,

Dipesh Karli

  • Hi,
What is your Rtc and Rth or what are you hot and cold temperature limits along with the sensor you're using and your input voltage?

  • Hi Raheem,                                                                                      In my circuit Rth is 7.2K and Rtc is 8.5K. Whereas input voltage is 9V.                                                                                            Regards,                                                                                                   Dipesh Karli

  • Hi,

Anyone has solution regarding above problem.

  • Hello Dipesh

It seems that you might have done the calculations incorrectly. Looking at the datasheet, you want to use the equation below for NTC thermistors. Rth will be the resistance of the thermistor at the maximum temperature you want and Rtc will be the cold temperature resistance. These values will be taken from the datasheet of the thermistor you're using. The equations below will then give you the values you need for the Rt1 and Rt2
